Inclusion criteria: - Patient in the hospital - Consent to the study - Patient capable of giving consent

Exclusion criteria: - Age under 18 years - not a patient of the clinic - Patient unable to give consent

MeasureTime frame
The study is intended to answer fundamental virological questions: Infectiologic data: - How many substance users are infected with HCV, HBV and HIV? - How many people have antibodies against HCV and HBV? - What is the proportion of viremic patients? - How many new infections are there in the group of drug users? Questionnaire: - the questionnaire is used to clarify whether the participants know of an existing infection and whether they have or have had access to treatment Sequencing of the viral genome/ epidemiological questions: - Frequency of viral genotypes - Detection of transmission networks Investigation of the cellular immune response: - Characterization of immune cells - Which group of lymphocytes is crucial for functional virus control? - Identification of important target epitopes in the viral protein - Which mechanisms lead to the failure of the cellular immune response?

Questionnaire: - How many people could be reached with HCV therapy? - Do changes in consumption behavior (e.g. infravenous vs. intake via the mucous membranes) influence the frequency of HCV, HBV and HIV? - Viral sequence distribution as a function of mobility behavior Sequence analysis: - Frequency of genotypes depending on risk behavior, gender or age
