Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: • Patients with confirmed COPD stage III or IV according to the GOLD classification • Chronic respiratory failure type II with established NIV therapy • Ongoing NIV therapy for a minimum duration of 3 months • Complete data sets available in the hospital’s documentation system CCP/KISS
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • Age < 18 years • Lack of capacity to provide informed consent • Incomplete or missing data sets in the CCP/KISS documentation system • Patients with a primary lung disease other than COPD (e.g., pulmonary fibrosis, bronchial asthma) • Patients experiencing acute exacerbations at the time of initial NIV initiation
