Group 1: All treatments are standardized according to currently valid guidelines and follow the order below: Periodontally healthy, young women (aged 18–35) with regular menstrual cycles are examined.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - ASA status 1 and 2 - Non-smoker - Consent of the patient - Regular menstrual cycle - Periodontal health (Chapple et al. 2018)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Children (underage patients) - Poor general condition (ASA status =3) - no consent of the patient to participate in the study - Diagnosed periodontitis disease - Pregnancy, breastfeeding mothers - Taking antibiotics - Diabetes mellitus - Rheumatoid arthritis - Diseases with immunosuppression - Patients with an increased risk of infective endocarditis - Patients with an increased risk of drug-induced jaw necrosis

MeasureTime frame
The aim of this prospective study is to analyze associations of the periodontal microbiome and the periodontal expression of immunoregulatory cytokines and reactive metabolites with the menstrual cycle of periodontally healthy young women in order to identify potential cycle-dependent (dental) therapy-relevant biomarkers. 1. changes in the concentration of proinflammatory cytokines and reactive metabolites in saliva and serum at T0, T1, T2 in relation to changes in the concentration of female sex hormones 2. change in the qualitative and quantitative composition of the oral (and possibly vaginal) microbiome at T0, T1, T2 in relation to changes in the concentration of female sex hormones
