Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ? At least one SARS-CoV-2 infection detected by PCR or antigen test more than 3 months ago, ? At least one of the 24 symptoms in the DigiHero study's “Post-COVID Symptoms Follow-up 2” questionnaire or the corresponding questions in the Long COVID Registry (see details in section 10.1) was reported as ‘severe’ (or “mild”) impairment. According to the medical history in the DigiHero study or the Long COVID Registry, the impairing symptoms described as “severe” or “mild” occurred for the first time after a SARS-CoV-2 infection. ? The symptoms cannot be adequately explained by another disease. ? The symptoms have persisted for at least 2 months. ? Symptoms restrict the daily routine of the test subjects, ? Body mass index (BMI) for test subjects between 15 and 35.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ? Subjects who are unable to provide informed consent, ? Pre-existing conditions prior to SARS-CoV-2 infection ? Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, ? depression, ? psychosomatic complaints (burnout, borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, PTSD, eating disorders, phobias, adjustment disorders, anxiety and panic disorders), or ? neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, ? Pregnancy, ? General contraindications for an MRI examination (claustrophobia, metal parts in the body, implants, hearing aids, pacemakers), ? Gadolinium intolerance, ? Renal insufficiency.
