Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Intensive care treatment, admitted to intensive care unit within the last 24 hours, immobilization and ventilation for at least 48 hours, written consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Expected death or termination of life-sustaining measures, femoral venous puncture not feasible, pregnancy

MeasureTime frame
Arterio-venous metabolomics - In the first step, the metabolites are measured there using untargeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry in order to distinguish between metabolites that are absorbed or released via the leg. In a second step, the metabolites that differ significantly between arterial and femoral venous blood will be quantified by targeted metabolomics and their absolute uptake or release calculated from arterial blood flow values (Fick's principle).
