Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients with a known diagnosis of COPD (all GOLD stages) and type 2 respiratory failure Adherence to guideline-based pharmacological therapy Consent to the data protection policy and provision of written informed consent Cognitive and linguistic ability to complete the questionnaires
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Age < 18 years Patients lacking capacity to give informed consent Rheumatoid arthritis or other chronic inflammatory joint diseases with relevant involvement of the wrists or finger joints Carpal tunnel syndrome or comparable peripheral nerve compression syndromes of the upper extremity Chronic polyneuropathies with sensorimotor involvement of the hands Corticosteroid-induced or primary myopathies Neurological disorders with impaired hand motor function (e.g., Parkinson's disease, status post cerebrovascular insult, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Cervical radiculopathies or plexopathies with documented muscle weakness in the dominant hand Musculoskeletal disorders or acute pain syndromes of the hand or forearm (e.g., tenosynovitis, advanced osteoarthritis) Recent injuries, surgeries, or other conditions that may interfere with standardized grip strength testing
