Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Persons of male, female or diverse gender; age 18-30 years, training volume of endurance training, strength training or combined strength and endurance training of at least six hours/week for at least three hours/week for at least three years. For the groups that primarily do either endurance training or strength training, it is important that at least 80% of their weekly training training workload in the respective primary form of training. | After an introductory discussion including information, the subjects are invited to a one-off examination and measurement. These are obtained by means of an oral glucose tolerance test in which capillary blood samples are taken at the time points t = 0, 30 min, 60 min, 90 min, 120 min. Further primary endpoints are muscle mass, fat-free mass and fat mass, which are determined once by means of a bioelectrical impedance analysis before the oral glucose tolerance test is carried out. Body composition is measured using an 8-electrode bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) from Selvas Healthcare. Bioelectrical impedance analysis is used to differentiate the composition of the body. A weak and imperceptible alternating current is passed through the body. This allows the different types of tissue to be detected, as fat, muscle, bone tissue and body water conduct the current differently. Eight electrodes are attached to both hands and feet so that the 8-point bioelectrical impedance analysis guarantees a segmental measurement of the torso, arms and legs.
