Group 1: Transcranial duplex sonography of the middle cerebral artery on both sides within 6 hours after thrombectomy (TICI 2b-3) and daily on days 2-5 after recanalization

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Mechanical recanalization = TICI 2b (with or without stent)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i. Technically induced vascular injury (dissection, perforation, vascular rupture) ii. Previously known or newly diagnosed, non-acutely treated, significant stenosis of the common carotid artery, ipsilateral or contralateral to the occlusion, internal carotid artery (distal stenosis grade according to NASCET > 50%) or middle cerebral artery in the M1 segment. iii. Lack of transtemporal acoustic window in routine TCD for imaging of the middle cerebral artery in the M1 segme
