Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) Minimum age of 18 years, both genders. b) Written informed consent of the participant or his/her legal guardian c) Patients with imaging-proof of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage d) Endovascular or microsurgical treatment within 12 hours after onset of SAH plus implantation of an external CSF drainage.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) pregnancy and breastfeeding b) bodyweight <50kg c) decompensated kidney disease (GFR <15ml/min) d) acute coronary syndrome within the past 6 months e) expected survival <48 hours

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Plasma and cerebrospinal fluid concentrations of calcium and magnesium on day 3 after bleeding

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. QoL (SAHOT questionaire) and overall survival after 3 and 6 months of follow-up, 2. Cerebral vasospasm and 3. Delayed ischemic deficite between day 3 and 14 after bleeding
