Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Injury management, mechanisms and outcomes of school-associated concussions in the district of Paderborn were analyzed. Furthermore, documentation and anaylsis of return to school and return to sport were addressed. Data acquisition is based on standardized testing procedure consisting of a subjective questionnaire, clinical neurological examinations (Child-SCAT or SCAT6), neuropsychological (CNS Vital Signs) and neurophysiological testings (Dynamic Visual Acuity Test, Stability Evaluation Test and video-based head impulse test). Children of primary school only receive the subjective questionnaire, older children undergo all mentioned tests . | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Longitudinal data will be collected after 1, 6 and 12 months to determine correlations between the initial subjective and clinical outcomes and individual progression. Estimating potential predictors for worse outcomes after school-associated concussion is defined as a secondary objective. | — |
