Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with suspected glioma or confirmed glioma (biopsied but not resected), as well as patients with suspected cerebral metastases or confirmed metastases (biopsied but not resected). Capacity to give informed consent. Eligibility for MRI without contraindications.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: An urgent need for neurosurgical intervention due to a mass lesion or brain swelling. Known pregnancy. Claustrophobia.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in the tumor-associated disconnectivity index (DCI) during transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) compared to baseline resting-state fMRI. Measurements are taken before TMS, during the first MRI scan, and simultaneously during the TMS-fMRI session (1–30 days after the baseline MRI). Data collection is performed using functional MRI (fMRI). An analysis of BOLD signal correlations between the tumor and tumor-associated brain regions to calculate the DCI is also conducted.

MeasureTime frame
Progression-free survival and overall survival according to RANO criteria for gliomas (Wen et al. 2023) and brain metastases (Lin et al. 2015). Additionally, motor function (BMRC), speech (modified AAT), and cognitive function (MOCA test).
