Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Bilateral or unilateral CI users with a compatible sound processor - Stable auditory performance with CI - A minimum of 6 months of CI use - Able to give informed consent, as documented by signature

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Inability to follow the procedures of the study (e.g. due to language barriers, psychological disorders, dementia, etc.)

MeasureTime frame
Investigation of the performance in psychoacoustic tests at an acute stage and after an adaptation period of minimal 6 weeks. Additionally, the change in performance in speech understanding in quiet is investigated after the adaptation period. The effect of the intervention will be subjectively assessed using (standardized) questionnaires.

Investigation of the effect of adjusting the frequency allocation table (FAT) on speech understanding in background noise after an adaptation period of at least 6 weeks.
