Group 1: intervention group:
Both the intervention group and the control group will undergo surgery according to the surgical standards of the Department of Surgery at the Universitätsklinik Mannheim.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of a colorectal disease with an indication for resection; Surgical treatment at the Universitätsmedizin Mannheim; Written informed consent of the participant after receiving detailed information; Physical ability to perform a cycling ergometry, treadmill exercise, or cross-trainer exercise
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with severe cardiac or pulmonary impairment; Physical limitations preventing cycling ergometry, treadmill exercise, or cross-trainer exercise; Lack of consent or inability to provide informed consent; Language barrier; Expected non-compliance; Non-operable colorectal carcinoma/palliative procedures; Pregnancy and breastfeeding
