Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Major Depression diagnosis, half of patients score suprathreshold on childhood maltreatment scale (CTQ)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: manic episodes in present or past (= diagnosis of bipolar disorder), all MRI contraindications, substance use disorder, current medication with benzodiazepines, current participation in another intervention study from the SFB CRC 393

| Change in emotional regulation flexibility: According to questionnaires and behavioral data from MRI (emotion regulation-based paradigm), participants from the intervention group show increased flexibility in the application of various emotion regulation strategies (group * time interaction effect). MRI-based structural plasticity: Compared to baseline measurements, the intervention group displays a changed neural structure in areas that play a role in emotion regulation at follow-up measurements and in contrast to the active control group (group * time interaction effect). Functional plasticity of the brain in networks of emotion regulation and emotion perception: At the follow-up appointment, the intervention group shows altered activation of emotion regulation-relevant areas during fMRI measurement compared to baseline measurement and in contrast to the active control group (group * time interaction effect). | — |
