Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - elective open or minimally invasive major abdominal cancer surgery with an expected hospital stay of at least 3 days, a skin incision and an expected operating time of > 2 hours - ability to understand and implement the content and scope of the study - verbal and written informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - emergency abdominal surgery - pregnancy - impaired mental state or language barrier - suspected lack of compliance - participation in another study that affects the study outcome
