Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: healthy, resistance-trained young men and women

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Orthopaedic abnormalities in the spine, pelvis, shoulders or legs as well as psychological abnormalities in the form of an eating disorder. In addition, there should be no metabolic or cardiovascular diseases or the need for regular medication.

Blood tests to check hormone changes and liver and kidney activity: Measurements are only taken at T0 and T3: Hormone parameters: Testosterone, estradiol, cordisol, IGF-1

MeasureTime frame
Change in body composition and performance: Measurements are taken every 4 weeks (T0, T1 (+4 weeks), T2 (+8 weeks), T3 (post, +12 weeks) Body composition is measured via bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA Akern 101) Parameters collected: Fat-free mass, muscle mass, fat mass and water balance. Performance is determined in the squat and bench press by means of a repetition maximum
