Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Age at CI-OP = 18 years • A promontory test conducted in Freiburg • A maximum single-syllable understanding of zero without a hearing aid • Existing preoperative hearing test measurements with hearing aid • At least 6 months (+/-) CI experience • Completed rehab in Freiburg

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Age at CI-OP < 18 years • Neurological or psychiatric comorbidities relevant to language comprehension (e.g., epilepsy, brain tumor, cognitive impairments, cerebrovascular disease, depression, etc.)

Correlation of speech understanding at 65dB SPL after CI implantation with the positive vs. negative promontory test (frequency discrimination, auditory perception, listener fatigue)
