Conditions

peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis

Interventions

Group 1: In the study, 30 patients from the Department of Orofacial Prosthetics and Functional Dentistry at the Medical Center for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine in Marburg/Lahn were examined
Hu-Friedy, Chicago, IL, USA) on the mesial, distal, buccal and lingual/palatal sides of the teeth and implants: Plaque index (Silness and Loe 1964)
gingival index (Loe and Silness 1963)
ST with BNS (6 sites on tooth and implant)
gingival/mucosal recession
width of keratinized gingiva/mucosa
photo documentation. This is followed by professional tooth and implant cleaning as well as motivation and instructions on oral hygiene. Furthermore, radiographic images of the implants will be taken

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Dynamic estimation of the degree of inflammation and quantification of tissue perfusion in sonographic images of implants to differentiate between peri-implant health, mucositis and peri-implantitis.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The determination of soft tissue dimension and bone level in sono-graphic images of implants to determine the correlation to peri-implant bone loss.
