Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Clinically confirmed Achilles tendinopathy with chronic symptoms for at least the last 3 months. Current VISA-A score of < 80 points.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Corticosteroid infiltration of the tendon, intake of antibiotics, leg surgery, tendon rupture, signs of partial ruptures in the past 12 months, any systemic condition (e.g., Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes), any spondyloarthropathies (e.g., spondylitis ankylosis), coronary heart disease, unstable hypertension, peripheral vascular disease or any other cardiovascular disease or medication that increases blood clotting risk.
