Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Adult patients who are being treated on an outpatient or inpatient basis in the Department of General Psychiatry 2 at the LVR Clinic Düsseldorf due to an underlying psychiatric illness. The following patient groups should be included: 1. Patients with affective disorders (ICD-10 F3x e.g. depression, bipolar affective disorder) 2. Patients with neurotic, stress and somatoform disorders (ICD-10 F4x e.g. anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders) 3. Patients with schizophrenia, schizotypal and delusional disorders (ICD-10 F2x e.g. schizophrenia) 4. Patients with developmental disorders (ICD-10 F8x e.g. autism spectrum disorder) 5. Patients with behavioral and emotional disorders that began in childhood and adolescence (ICD-10 F9x, e.g. simple activity and attention disorder) Adult patients with the following illnesses who are treated on an outpatient or inpatient basis in the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Düsseldorf: 1. Patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS; ICD-10 G35.1x) and 2. patients with autoimmune encephalitis (AIE; ICD-10 G04.8) as an immune-inflammatory control cohort and 3. patients with somatoform disorder (ICD-10 F45.x) as a non-immune-inflammatory control cohort.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: • Pregnant or breastfeeding women • People < 18 years of age • Patients unable to give consent, with the exception of patients under legal guardianship, where the patient and guardian give informed consent. • Patients with contraindications for MRI and MEG examinations, e.g. due to pacemaker implants • Previous treatment with immunosuppressants, including chemotherapy, whole-body irradiation or bone marrow transplantation • Treatment with high doses of steroids, immunoadsorption/plasmapheresis or immunoglobulins within 3 months prior to sampling • Ongoing treatment with immunosuppressants including chemotherapy, steroids, immunoadsorption/plasmapheresis, immunoglobulins or whole-body irradiation at the time of sampling • Patients with other systemic inflammatory diseases (e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic vasculitis) • Patients with immune deficiencies • Obvious signs of a systemic infection or known acute or chronic infectious diseases (e.g. HIV, HBV/HCV, TB) • History of drug use in the last 14 days prior to examination (drug urine test in urine is routinely performed as part of psychiatric treatment and thus before inclusion)
