Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of alcohol dependence according to ICD-10 Completed withdrawal at least 3 days of abstinence before inclusion in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Withdrawal symptoms during clinical examination Further substance dependence (exception: nicotine) Very strong nicotine dependence (FTNA greater than or equal to 7) Acute suicidality Contraindication biofeedback: epilepsy, severe personality disorder, Botox in the frontalis muscle in the last 3 months, psychosis) Limited language skills Hyperhidrosis Skin diseases (dermatitis, psoriasis, severe acne, burns where electrodes are applied, skin infections, allergic reactions, severe pruritus) Accommodation according to PsychKG Lack of ability to consent Patients who are not suitable according to the recruiter's discretion (lack of adherence, no motivation to abstinence, heart disease, pacemaker)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
reduction of craving (measured by the Mannheimer Craving Scale ((MaCS)). 3 measurement points (after training phase, transfer phase and follow-up one month after the end of the intervention).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
physiological parameters (skin conductivity, breathing rate, heart rate, HRV, muscle tension) psychological parameters (anxiety, depression, self-efficacy via STAI X1 + X2, SWE, BDI-ll)
