Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The subjects of the study consist of 3 groups (patients, interprofessional carers, relatives) in the acute geriatric care units, for which different inclusion criteria are defined. a. The following inclusion criteria apply to the ‘patients’ group - Age = 65 years, - Stay in one of the two cooperating wards that lasted of at least 3 days - No absolute contraindications for exercise or training, - Sufficient German language skills to understand verbal and written instructions b. The following inclusion criteria apply to the group ‘interprofessional carers’: - Age = 18 years, - Successfully completed training/studies in the healthcare sector, e.g., doctor, nursing, occupational/physical/sports therapy, social work, - Have worked on one of the co-operating wards for at least 1 year, - Weekly working hours: at least 50% of a full-time position, - On average, at least 50% of the weekly working hours contain day shifts (between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm) and at least 2 days / week, - At least 3 years of professional experience in internal medicine or geriatrics - Sufficient German language skills to understand verbal and written instructions. c. The following inclusion criteria apply to the ‘Relatives’ group: - Age = 18 years, - A person who describes themselves as a relative of a patient on the cooperating wards. This means that this person takes care of the patient both in their private life and during their hospitalisation. - Sufficient German language skills to understand verbal and written instructions.
