Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: SIAS-total score >= 20 SPS-total score >= 15

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Self-reported mental or neurological disorders (except for social anxiety); clinical manifestation of social anxiety (SIAS total score >36, SPS total score >26); currently ongoing psychotherapy; use of psychotropic medication.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Comparison of the two groups regarding self-reported anxiety and avoidance pressure (Likert scale from "not at all" to "very"), heart rate, and behavioral observation (indicators of social anxiety; rating scales from "not at all" to "very").

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected and perceived efficacy as well as the plausibility of the OLP intervention (Likert scale from "not at all" to "very"), correlations between the OLP effect and sociotropy (measured via the Sociotropy-Autonomy Scale, SAS).
