Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pleural effusion, lung cancer or pulmonary metastasis scheduled for the following types of elective VATS minor surgery for procedures of the lung and/or pleural region. Minor procedures that were performed included pleurolysis, partial pleural pleurectomy, pleurodesis and wedge resection.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Delirium prior to surgery, emergency surgery, high risk of pulmonary aspiration, difficult airway, major pleural adhesion, cardio-pulmonary dysfunction, chronic cough with secretion and obesity (BMI > 30 kg/m²)
