Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The most important endpoint was regeneration after the exercise protocol. For this purpose, blood parameters (creatine kinase, myoglobin and lactate) and performance parameters (squat and counter movement jump) were measured. The blood parameters were measured at the time points T0 (directly before the exercise protocol, creatine kinase, myoglobin and lactate), T1 (directly after the exercise protocol, myoglobin and lactate), T3 (three hours after the exercise protocol, myoglobin and lactate) and T24 (the next morning after the exercise protocol, i.e. exactly 24 hours after T0, creatine kinase). The performance parameters squat and counter movement jump were also measured directly before the exercise (T0) and the next morning (T24). | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Performance in the Cindy workout (number of repetitions completed). In addition to the recovery parameters, it was examined whether the performance in the high-intensity exercise protocol (Cindy workout) with aronia juice changed in comparison to the placebo. | — |
