Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Chronic musculoskeletal pain (= 6 months), age between 18 and 80 years, sufficient cognitive resilience, ability to give consent, sufficient knowledge of German, sufficient literacy skills

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Severe psychiatric or neurological comorbidities (e.g. addiction, acute psychotic symptoms, severe depressive episode, dementia)

The APS is translated into German according to guidelines for questionnaire translations (Beaton et al., 2000).	—

In addition to the pretesting of the German translation, the following psychometric properties are evaluated: Factor structure, construct validity (convergent validity), internal consistency and test-retest reliability (Prinsen et al., 2018; Beaton et al., 2000). In accordance with the recommendations of the COSMIN group (Prinsen et al., 2018), a sample size of 50 people per group is targeted for the reliability analysis. In addition, a comprehensive survey of criterion validity and a comparison of different diagnostic subgroups with regard to the distribution of the different activity patterns is carried out.	—
