Interventions

Group 1: Retrospective, anonymous data analysis of ALS patients and non-ALS patients who have received a PEG. The following parameters are analysed and compared among the patients in this regard: "NIV
"post-interventional complications" nausea, pain, leakage, abscess, surgery, death, CT, hypoxemia, NIV, local infection, systemic infection, bleeding
Weight, height, BMI, 1. Laboratory values, gender, age.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: PEG application at the Alfried Krupp Hospital Essen Steele between 2019 and 2024.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: No PEG implantation.

Primary endpoints: Sedation-related complications: Including respiratory events such as hypoxia, need for emergency NIV, or intubation during or immediately after PEG insertion

Secondary endpoints: Overall rate of complications: These include infection, bleeding, pain, leakage, local wound infection, GI bleeding, nausea and vomiting, acute abdomen, abscesses, downstream surgery, death, or other procedural complications associated with PEG attachment
