Group 1: 20 min of cycling including a final section of 12 min with superimposed regional electrical stimulation (buttocks and thighs) Group 2: 20 min of cycling without any stimulation

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - at least 4 hours of exercise per week - no previous experience with electrostimulation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - official contraindications for the use of electrical stimulation, such as an acute infection, cardiovascular disease or diabetes mellitus (DOI 10.3389/fspor.2024.1371723) - acute or chronic pain - analgesics prior to testing

MeasureTime frame
Pressure pain thresholds are determined at muscular and at osseous sites (both knee joints, sternum, left rectus femoris muscle, right rectus femoris muscle, left deltoid muscle, right deltoid muscle) using a pressure algometer before the start of an intervention and immediately after an intervention.
