Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: In-patient or out-patient treatment, alcohol use disorder according to DSM-5, breath alcohol content of 0 per mille, 1st-7th day of treatment. The patients have not received any withdrawal medication (clomethiazole or benzodiazepines) within the last 24 hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute psychosis, acute suicidal behaviors, electronic medical implants (e.g. pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), neurostimulator)

Alcohol consumption prior to hospital admission, craving for alcohol, drinking motives, sensation seeking, onset of alcohol consumption, loss of control, perceived stress, withdrawal attacks and delirium in the medical history, liver values, body mass index, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, etc.
