All
Age
20 Years to 79 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Existence of a written declaration of informed consent after the information has been provided Sufficient knowledge of German (neuropsychological testing takes place in German)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Relevant neurological diseases of the central nervous system in the past (e.g. stroke, epilepsy, manifest neurodegenerative disease, narcolepsy) Taking centrally active medication that has an influence on the sleep EEG or transmitter expression (e.g. sedatives, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, neuroleptics) (Untreated) severe sleep-related breathing disorders (AHI > 30/h) Unfeasibility of the MRI examination (e.g. claustrophobia or pacemaker)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Relative reduction of the slow-wave activity (SWA) determined in the sleep EEG during the night. Circadian change (evening vs. morning) in the glutamate concentration determined by MR-S in two cortex regions (frontal left, parietal right).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Relationship between cognitive performance (SDMT and TMT) or cognitive reserve (CRIq) and the parameters of synaptic homeostasis (SWA reduction, Glu decrease).
