Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: -aged 18 years or older -underwent a liver resection for a bening or malignant -no PVE preoperatively

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -Patients who had a portal vein reconstruction or multivisceral resection -Known preoperative portal vein thrombosis

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The occurance of a postoperative PVE within 90 days after surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Postoperative complications according to the Clavien-Dindo-Klassifikation Lenght of Hospital Stay Lenght of ICU Stay
