Interventions

Group 1: Participation in a two-day resource-oriented family therapy intervention. This is followed by completion of a qualitative questionnaire and participation in a focus group discussion.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with an oncological disease and their family, regardless of the type and stage of the tumor disease, ability to consent to study participation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The main exclusion criterion is the lack of a signed declaration of consent. Another exclusion criterion is the occurrence of severe mental disorders within the last two years, i.e. psychotic disorders, bipolar disorders, severe depression and acute suicidality.

Subjective experience of the participants with regard to the family therapy intervention from the perspective of different target groups (children, adolescents, patients and their partners): Did the intervention meet the participants' expectations? How did they experience the different elements of the intervention? How do the participants assess the scope and design of the intervention? What lasting effects of the intervention do the participants report? Has participating in the family weekend changed anything in their daily lives? What suggestions do the participants have for improving the content and framework of the intervention?
