Group 1: Single-Arm- Trial: After inclusion prospective observation study of pulmonary organ function after pulmonary vein isolation in COPD patients

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Only adult patients with COPD and VHF 2. Indication for pulmonary vein isolation according to current guideline-compliant therapy (at least class IIa indication)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Permanent atrial fibrillation 2. Contraindications for pulmonary vein isolation or oral anticoagulation for at least 3 months 3. Ongoing amiodarone therapy 4. Valvular disease requiring treatment 5. Long-term oxygen therapy 6. End-stage renal insufficiency with indication for renal replacement procedure 7. Chronic inflammatory conditions requiring long-term oral steroid use 8. Pregnancy or lactation 9. Active tumor disease
