Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Patients under 50 years of age who have reported severe levels of persistent sexual, physical and neurological symptoms following use and discontinuation of finasteride and who are in contact with the PFS Network charity. The control group consists of fertile men under 50 years of age who have not taken finasteride and do not suffer from any sexual impairments. Age-matched male controls.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Under 18 years old, over 50 years old. No ability to travel.

Investigation of Finasteride-Induced Epigenetic Alterations and their Impact on Gene Expression These alterations can only be detected through laboratory-based analytical methods. Induced epigenetic changes—such as altered methylation patterns in androgen receptor (AR) regulatory regions or modifications in the chromatin landscape of androgen-responsive genes—are identified in the laboratory. These changes may underlie a pathologically altered sensitivity to androgens, potentially resulting in cytotoxicity and widespread dysregulation of gene expression.
