Group 1: Application of cream formulations to the back and investigation of the protective effect in the VIS/NIR range for skin types IV to VI using the DRS measurement method (non-invasive) Group 2

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Skin-healthy subjects older than 18 years, younger than 70 years - have ITA° values of at least 28 for skin types I-III - have ITA° values of << 28 for skin type IV-VI - are informed about the objectives of the study and the nature of the examinations - have given written informed consent to participate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Minors or persons older than 70 years - Pregnant and breastfeeding women - Subjects under medication with photosensitising potential - Subjects with known skin diseases - Subjects who have previously reacted abnormally to UV radiation - Subjects with spots, blemishes or pigmentation on the test area that affect the results (ITA value variation = 5%) - Test subjects with sun damage in the test area (e.g. severe skin wrinkling and diffuse pigmentation) - Test subjects with known allergies and intolerance reactions to cosmetics - Subjects who have heavy hair growth on the test area on the day of the test (hair may be shaved up to 3 days before the day of the test or cut on the day of the measurement) - Persons who have not given their informed consent in writing - Persons who are unable to make decisions on their own responsibility

There is no real endpoint. This exploratory study aims to reproducibly and non-invasively determine the sun protection factor (SPF) of cream formulations for the VIS/NIR range in darker skin types. A protective effect of cream formulations in the VIS/NIR spectral range can be demonstrated for darker skin types (>III).	—
