Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: For patients: - diagnosis of a neuropathy including CMT, inflammatory neuropathy (CIDP, MMN, GBS), diabetic neuropathy, ALS - able to give informed consent Additional inclusion criteria for longitudinal sub-analysus (10 patients with immune mediated polyneuropathy): - no previous therapy with intravenous or subcutaneous immunoglobulins - planned start on intravenous immunoglobulin therapy as a clinical treatment plan (independant from study participation) For healthy volunteers: - no neuromuscular disease or symptoms fitting with a previously not-diagnosed neuropathy or myopathie - able to give informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: For patients: - pregnancy - tattoos in the skin area examined - critically ill patients - severe peripheral artery disease - severe adipositas - other neuromuscular disease, additional to the diseases covered in the study, including diabetes in patients that are not part of the evaluation group for diabetic neuropathy Additional exclusion criteria for the longitudinal sub-analysis (10 patients with immune mediated neuropathy) - previous therapy with intravenous or sub-cutaneous immunglobulins For healthy volunteers: - diagnosis of a neuromuscular disease or symptoms consistent with an previously undiagnosed neuromuscular diesease - paresis of upper extremities - cervical spine disease (symptomatic cervical spinal canal stenosis, compression of cervival nerve roots) - known nerval entrapment syndroms (carpal tunnel, sulcus-ulnaris syndrome) - diabetes mellitus - severe adipositas - limitations to the ability to give informed consent - pregnancy -tattoos in the skin area examined
