Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inpatient admission for presurgical epilepsy evaluation or epilepsy surgery; legally valid written informed consent (if necessary, through legal guardians/caregivers).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: None.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1) Latencies between diagnosis and presurgical epilepsy evaluation. 2) Use of diagnostic modalities and concordance of their results with the focus hypotheses. 3) Neuropsychological test results in standard values as measures of deviation from the norm cohort. 4) Epilepsy surgery (yes/no), concept (curative/palliative; resective/other), localization, and outcome (ILAE class).

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints include: • Pre-post-op comparison: Subjective burden from epilepsy, expectations/fears, autonomy, education/employment, driving license. • Complications related to intracranial EEG diagnostics and epilepsy surgery. • Pre-post-op comparison: Cognitive performance development after epilepsy surgery.
