Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 3rd and 4th grade students and their parents in Heidelberg and the surrounding area with sufficient knowledge of the German language. Written informed consent by children and parents.

Exclusion criteria: no knowledge of German, no written consent

Intervention group (parents/children): t1 after parent-teacher conference and before intervention (meaning the 4 school lessons), t2 at least one week after intervention, t3 at least 6 weeks after the intervention Wait-list control group (parents/children): t1 after parent-teacher conference, t2 at least one week after t1, t3 at least 6 weeks after t1 Afterwards, voluntary participation of parents in parent skills training and embedded survey t4 (before parent training), t5 (after parent training), t6 (4 months after parent training) Students: t1 before intervention (meaning the 4 school lessons), t2 after intervention, t3 approx. 6 weeks after intervention The surveys for parents, children, teachers, and students each take approximately 20-30 minutes. The survey for the children takes place on-site at the school and is supervised by trained staff members. The children complete the questionnaires using tablets provided by the school (online version). If tablets are not available at the school, paper-pencil questionnaires are used instead. In comparison, the surveys for parents, students, and teachers are available online. Herefore, the participants receive a link to the online questionnaires via email. Children at t1, t2, t3 and parents at t1, t2, t3, t4, t5, t6: Help-seeking behavior (intentional and actual): German translation and adaption based on Kaess et al. (2019) and Sharples et al.
