Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Sufficient language skills to fully understand the information and the information sheet in german - Patients who have an indication for open heart aortic and/or mitral valve surgery using the heart-lung machine, independent of this study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Age 80 years - Insufficient language skills to understand the information and the information sheet - Cognitive limitations that make it difficult to understand the information and the information sheet - Patient care situation or neurological conditions that impair the patient's ability to give consent - Renal insufficiency requiring dialysis - Acute endocarditis - Known coronary heart disease - Post myocardial biopsy or already planned myocardial biopsies

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
A typical primary endpoint is not part of the study. Target of this studie is to examine the transcriptome of patients onto gender-specific features and if there is than we want to search for different influences onto the valvular heart failure of our patients.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Correlation of myocardial and haematopoietic transcriptome; correlation of gender specific transcriptome with clinical factors (e.g. ejection fraction; diastolic/ systolic function)
