Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Obesity with BMI >35kg/m^2 - Planned metabolic-bariatric surgery via Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass - Insulin Resistance or absence of impaired glucose matabolism - Cognitive ability to grasp the consequences and extent of the trial - Ability for written informed consent - Ability to understand the German language to an extent that the consequences and extent of the trial can be understood fully

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Weight >120kg - Non-MRI compatible metallic implants - Stents or tattoos - Dental implants or non-removable piercings - Extensive claustrophobia - Non-removable hormonal patches or medical pumps - Inability to understand the consequences and extent of the study - Expected incompliance - Pregnancy - Medically treated Diabetes Mellitus Type II - Diabetes Mellitus Type I - Diabetes Mellitus Type III
