Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Patients with locally confined esophageal carcinoma who are pretreated with neoadjuvant therapy depending on the tumor stage and who then undergo esophageal resection • Patients included at diagnosis • Age > 18 years • Written consent of the participating person after explanation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • advanced tumor stage with distant metastases • advanced tumor stage in which resection is not possible • inoperability • lack of ability to consent • age < 18 years • treatment for esophageal carcinoma already initiated

Postoperative Complications during the hospital stay using the Clavien-Dindo classification

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Postoperative Quality of live at discharge from hospital and 6-8 weeks after discharge, measured using the FACT-E (Esophageal) questionnaire. The questionnaire was translated in German.
