Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eisbach surfers: At least three Eisbach surfing sessions within the last 3 months Matched controls: Individuals with no Eisbach surfing or regular swimming activity (more than 3 times) within the last 12 months, matched to the surfers based on sex and age category.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Lack of willingness to provide a blood sample or complete the short questionnaire Previously known leptospirosis

Determination of the seroprevalence of leptospirosis among Munich Eisbach surfers com- pared to matched controls.

MeasureTime frame
Determination of the proportion of possible symptomatic leptospirosis cases. Analysis of environmental samples for the direct detection of leptospirosis.
