Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy non-smokers or a clinical/anamnestic suspicion of COPD

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Withdrawal of informed consent - Contraindications for forced breathing maneuvers (e.g., acute myocardial infarction, acute fulminant pulmonary embolism, large ascending aortic aneurysm, tension pneumothorax) - Pacemaker or other electrically active thoracic implants - Wounds or open skin lesions in the thoracic area - History of thoracic surgery (e.g., lung segment resection, cardiac surgery, esophagus resection) - Asthma - Pulmonary fibrosis - Cystic fibrosis - Advanced heart failure (= NYHA III or ACC/AHA Stage C-D) - Lack of ability to provide informed consent
