Conditions

Students at different levels of training will evaluate holograms and two-dimensional dental films of predefined cases (X-ray images of teeth) according to certain criteria. The findings are documented, statistically evaluated and compared with the so-called “ground truth”.

Interventions

Group 1: Students view cases 1-3 as dental films (conventional, two-dimensional X-ray) and cases 4-6 as holograms Group 2: Students view cases 1-3 as a hologram and cases 4-6 as a dental film (convent

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The numerical deviation of the number of root canals annotated by students, the deviation of the root canal configuration and the deviation of the treatment difficulty from the “ground truth” between the findings of dental films and the findings of a hologram of the same case depending on the semester affiliation and the performance in the pre-test.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Questionnaire to analyze students' perceptions and preferences regarding hologram technology.
