Interventions

Group 1: Health care professionals (nurses, physicians, other), former adult patients and their relatives. The online survey starts on March 12th, 2025 and ends after six weeks on April 23rd

it takes about 5 minutes for participants.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) clinicians (health care professionals), former adult patients and their relatives, and others; and b) who agree to the conditions of the survey and are legal capable of doing so, c) who answer at least the question for the success story, and d) finish the survey.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) with offending comments, or b) with complaining comments only, or c) other reasons such as: story is not understandable, advertisement for any products, other answers than the intended meaning, or d) without reporting a success story.

Design outcomes

Primary

Measure	Time frame
Content analyses of personal delirium success stories. Participants are asked to report personal success stories in connection with delirium in a free text of up to 300 words. The data will be analyzed qualitatively with thematic analysis.	—

Secondary

Participants further indicate in multiple choice questions whether the diagnosis of delirium was made by medical staff, from which perspective they report (healthcare staff, former patients, families or others), and what kind of success this has led to (improvement in patients, families, implementation in practice, others). In open questions participants are asked what was the most important factor and what recommendations can be made for the healthcare system. The quantitative questions are analyzed statistically, the qualitative data are analyzed using the thematic analysis.	—
