Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Comparative evaluation of a mixed reality-based teaching intervention for learning and understanding anatomical events and vascular morphologies of the thoracic aorta and its branches in comparison to CT-based teaching material, as well as testing the added value of a mixed reality unit in the context of an ultrasound course. In a randomized setting, the learning success of students with different teaching materials will be examined. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |

| Secondarily, individual and general factors influencing the test results of the study will also be examined. For this purpose, personality traits, gender, age, surgical and sonographic experience and previous gaming experience (baseline characteristics) of the test subjects will be recorded during data collection. In addition, tests to quantify spatial imagination (tube figures, mental rotation test) will be carried out. Furthermore, stereoscopic vision will be examined using the Lang Stereotest II. The relationships between these variables and the test results will be evaluated as part of exploratory analyses. | — |
