Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1. Comparison of changes in retinal vessel density using high-resolution OCT before and during blood glucose fluctuations over 60 minutes. 2. Comparison of changes in arteriolar and venular caliber using high-resolution OCT before and during blood glucose fluctuations over 60 minutes. 3. Comparison of changes in retinal fluorescence lifetime (measured by fluorescence lifetime imaging ophthalmoscopy, FLIO) at baseline and during blood glucose fluctuations over 60 minutes. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Metabolic changes of the tickness of the choroid and changes of hormones such as cortisol, insulin IGF1 at baseline, after 30 min. of glucose injection, and 60 min. after glucose injection. | — |
