Interventions
Group 1: Obese patients with lipedema who are undergoing pre- and postoperative preparation for bariatric surgery will receive:
- Medical history (including the occurrence of diabetes mellitus and hyp
clinical staging of lipedema classification and body measurements
- Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA)
- Measurements using three-dimensional (3D) optical imaging (mobile scanner)

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - All patients requiring a bariatric surgery. - Patients, with lipoedema, requiring a bariatric surgery (Roux-Y Gastric Bypass or sleeve gastrectomy). - Able to understand the nature of the study and what will be required of them. - Women (non-pregnant and non-lactating) and men aged 18 years and older. - BMI above 35 kg/m2 - Patients with ASA I-II-III-IV
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Inability to give written informed consent. - Patients with ASA V.
