Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: • Men / Women, aged 18-28 years (as specified by the weltwärts program) • Residence in Germany • Participation in the weltwärts program with a planned 12-month stay in Uganda
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • Not residing in Germany within the last 5 years • Pregnancy • Chronic gastrointestinal diseases (chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, colon cancer, diverticulitis) • Use of antibiotics in the last 4 weeks and/or regularly during the stay abroad (exception: medications for malaria prophylaxis) • Regular use of probiotics (discontinuation at least 2 weeks before examination T0) • Acute gastrointestinal illness (diarrhea) • Family history of chronic intestinal diseases
