Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Two n-equals-1 studies will be conducted. For this purpose, various cardiorespiratory parameters will be measured under meditation at three measurement dates in n=1 older people (aged 70 and over) with and n=1 older people (aged 70 and over) without many years of meditation experience. The primary target parameter is mean arterial pressure (MAD) at all time points. The aim of the study is to explore the mechanisms of action of meditation in older people based on the primary parameter and the secondary parameters.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Blood pressure (diastolic / systolic), heart rate, pulse wave velocity, respiratory rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), perfusion index, pulse wave latency, carbon dioxide Co2 (inspiratory/expiratory), neurovegetative activity (parameters of the time and frequency domain of heart rate variability), electroencephalography
